Our process
The right solution is only identifiable after the full picture is clear. That requires conversation — before design, and well before commitment.
Every engagement begins the same way: with a conversation.
Not a presentation. Not a proposal. A conversation about your situation — your estate, your obligations, your goals, and your timeline.
Those conversations happen over several meetings, in person or one-on-one, before anything formal is put in place. The Monolith Group invests that time because the solution we ultimately recommend depends entirely on what we learn. A structure designed without that understanding isn’t a solution — it’s a guess.
Some situations aren’t ready for this work yet. Some don’t warrant it. We’ll tell you both — clearly — before any engagement begins.
the process
The engagement begins with a series of confidential, no-obligation conversations — in person or one-on-one — focused entirely on understanding the client’s estate, goals, liquidity needs, existing advisory relationships, and risk tolerance. No documentation required. No commitment implied. The only objective is mutual understanding.
Once we have a complete picture of the client’s situation, we assess which of The Monolith Group’s programs is the right fit. The assessment is driven entirely by the client’s circumstances — not by product preference.
When a potential solution has been identified and both parties are ready to move toward formal evaluation, the client provides a Personal Financial Statement. The PFS gives The Monolith Group the complete financial picture needed to design a precisely calibrated solution. It is reviewed by The Monolith Group, the sponsoring bank, and the insurance carrier, and is not shared beyond those parties.
Before design begins, we confirm the structural prerequisites specific to the solution being considered — which may include liquidity composition, insurability, and timeline alignment. For programs that include a life insurance component, insurability is a binary condition confirmed before significant time or resources are committed. Clients who meet the qualifications move to design. Those who don’t will know why, and what — if anything — would need to change.
We design the specific solution — defining the collateral structure, program parameters, and exit mechanics appropriate to the client’s situation and the program selected. This design is coordinated with the client’s existing legal, banking, and advisory counsel.
We align the commercial bank, investment bank, trustee, and insurance carrier — as applicable — around the designed structure. The infrastructure is established at the institutional level, with the counterparties and documentation appropriate to the client’s estate.
The structure is implemented with full coordination across all parties. The client’s existing advisors maintain their roles throughout. Nothing is disrupted. Nothing is displaced. The liquidity infrastructure is in place. The timeline is defined. The exit is engineered.
The Monolith Group maintains oversight of the structure through its defined lifecycle — monitoring performance, collateral release schedule, and retirement timeline as applicable. The client’s advisors are kept informed. The structure performs as designed.

The most common structural needs these solutions address:
The solution is only as good as the fit. The fit is only as good as the understanding that precedes it.
